Drivers can enjoy an hour’s free parking this summer across high streets and shopping districts in Harrow.

Harrow Council has approved plans to support local high streets by introducing free parking in on-street parking bays.

The hour of free parking will give residents more time to enjoy their local shops, restaurants and cafes without worrying about parking costs, while also helping to boost local business, protect local jobs, and even create new employment opportunities.

The council is also reviewing its regeneration priorities and plans.

Councillor Paul Osborn, leader of Harrow Council, said: “We’re delivering on our promise of an hour free parking for our residents. This will encourage residents to shop locally and support our local high streets that are the lifeblood of our local economy.

“Having bounced back from the pandemic, this additional support will be welcoming news for the borough’s business community and our residents.”
