11 Feb All Hounslow schools receive ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating
Hounslow Town Primary School was just awarded ‘Good’ from Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills.
This latest award means that all schools in the borough have a rating of ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’.
A total of 13 primary schools, six secondary schools and two special education schools received an ‘Outstanding’ rating.
Councillor Tom Bruce, cabinet member for education, children and youth services, said: “This is fantastic news for the borough. These reports show our schools are helping to provide bright futures for every child in the borough.
“I’m immensely proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our teachers and school staff despite the significant challenges and disruption caused by the pandemic.
“Learning in a safe and happy environment is critical to ensure our children reach their full potential and achieve their academic and vocational goals.”
Lorna Bruce, deputy headteacher at Hounslow Town Primary School, added: “This Ofsted report is a great result for the school and the children. We want ambition for every single one of them. The pandemic was tough on our pupils, even holding a pencil posed difficulties for many when we returned to the classroom. We had to quickly identify the areas they were struggling with because of the pandemic and put things into place to fix them while monitoring the impact and ensuring they are benefiting our children.”
