Barnet Council to install 500 EV charge points

The London Borough of Barnet has secured more than £3.5million in grant funding to deliver 500 electric vehicle charging points by the end of 2022.

The council is expected to spend close to £5million in total delivering charging points across 34 residential streets, selected based on resident requests and suitability, particularly where off-street parking is not an option.

Barnet currently claims the second-highest EV ownership rate in the capital, and this latest development forms part of their wider EV strategy.

The council has yet to reveal the companies who will supply the charging points.
