28 Jul BBC Earth Experience planned for former exhibition centre site

Plans have been submitted to Hammersmith & Fulham Council to deliver a new temporary concept on the site of the former Earls Court Exhibition Centre.

The BBC Earth Experience would deliver immersive, augmented reality experiences, bringing the great outdoors to the heart of West London.

If approved, BBC Earth Experience would launch in 2023 and run for two years.

The scheme would be comprised of an exhibition space and front of house building, open daily to people of all ages, with a maximum of 650 visitors.

A planning report said: “The proposal is to construct a temporary structure to house the BBC Earth Experience based on the TV, BBC Earth.

“This immersive experience pulls the viewer into an imagined world, enabling them to interact with their environment. Immersive experiences use a blend of visuals, sound and technology to deliver unforgettable and engaging worlds.”
