25 Mar Brentford estate to make way for 209 new flats
Hounslow Council will redevelop Charlton House, Albany House, and Osier Court in Brentford High Street to make way for a new regeneration project of five new apartment blocks comprised of 209 flats.
The blocks will range between one and eight storeys high.
Following a successful consultation the development, designed by KC+A Architects, will rehome people currently living on the estate, but will also bring affordable homes to the area and double the number of flats that were previously on site. The homes will be 100% affordable and the development will include flexible non-residential units, as well as new public spaces.
The proposals also show blue badge parking, cycle parking, and landscaping.
According to the planning report, the plan will bring “significant benefits to the environmental, social and economic well-being of the area, in particular those resulting from the completion of a significant number of new housing units, including a high proportion of affordable housing”.
Work is expected to begin in March 2023 for completion in summer 2026.
