Home to a population of more than two million people and a host of world-renowned companies, the region would be a significant European city on its own. In total, West London has well over 100,000 businesses ranging from SMEs to huge global brands.
West London is home to some of the biggest companies in the world. Diageo, Sky, Disney, Cisco, SEGRO, Coca-Cola and British Airways all have headquarters in the region. A wide range of sectors have a dynamic presence in the area, including creative, biopharma and food & drink.
Over 49 per cent of those employed in the area are educated to degree level or equivalent – well above the national average. The region also has more 16-year-olds continuing in full-time education than the rest of the capital. There is a strong trend towards professional, scientific and managerial occupations in the knowledge sectors.
