Hillingdon named UK’s greenest borough

The London Borough of Hillingdon has been awarded 66 Green Flag Awards, making it the greenest borough in the UK.

The borough received the Green Flags for its range of parks and outdoor spaces, more than any other local authority.

The scheme is judged annually by a board of environmental charities, including Keep Britain Tidy.

Four of Hillingdon’s green spaces recently received Green Flag approval – Rosedale Park, Rockingham Recreation Ground, Hillingdon House Farm, and Moorhall Recreation Ground.

Councillor Eddie Lavery, cabinet member for residents’ services at Hillingdon Council, said: “We’re committed to making Hillingdon a greener, cleaner and healthier borough for everyone and we’re delighted that our investment in our parks and green spaces has been recognised by the prestigious Green Flag Awards.”
