29 Sep Housebuilder’s 92 affordable homes help Ealing hit target
Housebuilder, The Hill Group, has completed 92 homes to help meet Ealing Council’s target of delivering 2,500 affordable homes in its four-year term of office.
The homes in Seasprite Close, off Ruislip Road in Northolt, were funded through private sales and provided at no cost to the council.
The new housing is a significant regeneration project for Seasprite Close, replacing three poor quality post-war buildings. They make up the last of 19 developments in the Ealing Small Sites Programme to be completed by The Hill Group, following close collaboration with existing residents.
Hill and Ealing phased the development to ensure the most vulnerable who wanted to stay could remain on site.
Ealing Council Leader, Peter Mason, said although the council had “smashed our ambitious target” of delivering 2,500 homes in four years, “there is still much work to do”.
He added: “We’ve now pledged to deliver a further 4,000 new, genuinely affordable homes over the next four years.”
Hill has also worked in partnership with Ealing on the award-winning Copley Close in Hanwell, involving 201 homes, a shop, café and management centre, as well as a Brompton bike hire dock.
