15 Feb J S Wright secures contract for major Hounslow development

Mechanical and electrical building services specialist J S Wright has landed a £7.25million for a new housing development in Hounslow.

The development of 900 energy efficient and carbon neutral homes on the site of the old Civic Centre is being delivered by Notting Hill Genesis and Hill Group.

J S Wright will upgrade the existing heating systems with gas-fired condensing boilers and combined heat and power units to maximise energy, as well as a new underground heating system. The company will also deliver low pressure hot water to feed underfloor heating and a boosted cold-water system.

J S Wright will use its in-house prefab facility to supply the heat interface units, reducing the number of trades on site, and equip flats with mechanical heat recovery ventilation to reduce energy costs, as well as supplying above ground drainage, dry risers for fire protection, and sanitaryware.

The flats will be a mix of private sale, shared ownership, and affordable rent. Work is expected to complete in 2023.
