06 Sep Joint venture affordable flats scheme kicks off in Brentford
Work has begun on a scheme to build 440 flats next to the new Brentford FC and London Irish stadium in West London.
The project is a joint venture between the leading housing association L&Q and house builder Hill Group, and is on the site of the former Citroen garage site in Brentford.
Half of the homes will be affordable and include a mix of shared ownership and affordable rented homes.
The plans comprise five buildings of heights up to 18 storeys, and include a public square, alongside significant investment in local infrastructure improvements.
The joint venture partnership will also provide a range of social benefits for the local area during construction, including investment in significant employment, training and community-focused opportunities.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
Regional Director for The Hill Group, Cain Peters, said, “We are excited to be embarking on our first joint venture with L&Q. We are focused on adding social value to Brentford and will be working closely with the local community to provide training and jobs. We welcome local residents to make contact if they are interested in pursuing a career in construction.”
