13 May New cabinet for Harrow
Harrow Council has announced a new Cabinet line up, making portfolio changes to meet the challenges of recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Harrow Council leader Cllr Graham Henson (pictured) will also hold the portfolio for Strategy, Regeneration, Partnerships and Devolution. Keith Ferry had the regeneration brief until December, when it became incompatible with his appointment as a director of the council’s joint venture vehicle with Wates, the Harrow Strategic Development Partnership .
Cllr Ferry takes the Business, Property and Leisure portfolio, Cllr Natasha Proctor joins as Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Finance & Resources, Cllr Phil O’Dell stays with Housing, and Cllr Varsha Parmar heads up Environment and Climate Change.
Council Leader Cllr Graham Henson said: “Over the past 14 months the council has faced significant challenges responding to the Covid pandemic, we are often reported as saying that it has been relentless, with services stepping up, many working seven days a week, from early morning to late at night, the response has truly shown the value of local government.”
“I will be eternally grateful for the work portfolio holders and their teams have all put in during this time in response to the pandemic, not just in Harrow, but sub-regionally and across London.
“As we all know the recovery will be very challenging and so, to reduce pressure in some areas, I have formally announced my revised cabinet for 2021/22.”
