02 Mar VIPs join Growth Summit networking breakfast
Invited guests joined VIPs and leading West London figures for an exclusive networking breakfast sponsored by Capital West London Growth Summit partners SEGRO.
More than 40 guests headed to the University of West London’s restaurant for a cooked breakfast, and hot drinks.
Speaking to guests, Gareth Baker, regional director – Heathrow, SEGRO, said the company had seen extraordinary growth over the previous two years as changing needs highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic created a need for high-quality, sustainable warehousing across the capital.
He added the developer had exciting plans across West London, in exciting locations including Heathrow, Hayes, Greenford and Park Royal.
He added: “We’ve got ambitions to grow and we’re really excited.
“What really drives us is the responsible SEGRO framework. Championing low carbon growth, helping disadvantaged people with training, diversity and inclusion, and making the real estate sector as attractive as possible.”
Lucy Taylor, interim executive director of place at Ealing Council, also spoke to breakfast diners. She said: “It’s really good to be back in person. So much has happened and so much has changed.
“We’ve seen the power of our communities and what can happen when they come together and collaborate. I hope we don’t lose that. Our challenge is to capture those good things, and ensure we take those on and do them differently.
“We’re really keen that we work really closely with our partners and more closely with our community. In Ealing we’re always open to talking to partners open to speak to partners to rebuild our economy. There’s a real desire to help our residents have good jobs and help them sustain that and improve their lives.”
